Musically Speaking!
...where the pedal meets the Metal!
Well, I've finally added some long overdue content including practice sets, club photos and more. Check out the Bio section and newly updated Gallery.
I've also started a musicians wanted section, since I am actively looking to form a specialty band. You can view more details in... The Project.
The quick and dirty low down on this project is 80's rock music. Not punk, not new wave, not early rap, not death metal ... rock. My view, is that with very few exceptions, if it didn't happen between about 75 and 95 or so, it didn't actually happen. And, if it doesn't rock, it isn't music! As I said, there are a few exceptions, but I can't think of any right now. To get a better picture of exactly what my tastes are, check out my practice sets. In the mean time, think... Judas Priest, Poison, Kiss, Heart, Motley Crue, Guns and Roses, Pat Benetar, etc... and you'll be on the right track.
I've been called narrow minded and stuck in the 80's, but the bottom line is, I'm not getting any younger here and this will probably be my last opportunity, so yeah... I know what I want, no apologies. And, I'm looking for like minded individuals to come together for this thing!
There's a lot more detail in The Project section, but you should know that I'm looking for people with stable jobs, lifes, etc... who are past the point where they actually think they are going to get rich and famous doing this! I don't want to have to play 4 or 5 nights a week, taking every low paying job because we have to. I'd rather practice often, have a ton of fun, and play 1 or 2 well planned, well promoted and well attended jobs per month... not just for good money... but for the enjoyment of kicking some serious ass with an audience that is in tune with what we are doing and a band that mutually enjoys this material the way I do. I want to play for the enjoyment of putting on a killer show, and if we make some money to support our habit, so much the better.
I want to create a show that people will remember when they walk out the door. Any band can stand there like soldiers and play their songs, but it takes a certain attitude and flair to PERFORM them the way they should be. Some of you are nodding your head, saying... "yeah"... others are saying "what the hell is he talking about".... oh well.
You can get more detail on my experience, equipment, etc. in the Bio section. I've done my share of basement bands for sure, but my more noteworthy credits are Valhalla in the early 80's performing classic rock and most notably Dirty Tryxx from the late 80's performing hairspray and hard rock.
