Musically Speaking! Biography
Dirty Tryxx

Dirty Tryxx was the last and most successful working band that I've been involved with. Working steadily throughout Northeast PA, during the mid to late 80's, we kicked some very serious butt.

The band was formed between myself and an outstanding lead guitar player I had jammed with on a few occasions prior to Dirty Tryxx. We both had a taste for kick you in the teeth rock, ala Judas Priest, GnR, etc. In fact, our playing styles clicked in a way that is usually reserved for drummer/bassist teams... not lead players!

We were fortunate to have a really solid bassist join the group, and with the addition of a rhythm guitar player and a female vocalist/keyboard we rounded out a killer line up of the era's best tunes.

Dressed in full show garb, with a blazing light show, we developed the kind of fan dedication that every basement band strives for. While we played a wide range of artists, we became well known for our screaming covers of Guns 'n' Roses, Judas Priest and KISS, sprinkled with a liberal portion of Heart, Benetar and Poison.

It seemed like this would be one of those 30 year tales of gigs, crowds, experiences, etc. And we did have our fair share of all that. But unfortunately, as with so many projects an end would come after only a few years of working together.

As much as we all enjoyed what we were doing, the money wasn't there to support 5 players, in spite of often playing 3 and 4 nights a week.

Equipment needed fixed, trucks needed gas and insurance, loans needed paid, not to mention something for the sound guy, the light guy and booking commissions.

Eventually, the financial strain took its toll and unfortunately, some very nasty stuff took place. It's really a shame the way things went down, but the rest, as they say ...is history.

Some of the members went on to form other bands, others dissappeared into the woodwork. After a few jams with other players, I decided to persue an ambition to open my own business, which turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life, as I now have the time to re-dedicate to the music I love!

So, after a much too lengthy hiatus, it's time. The Final Project!
