So... you bump into some schmo on the street or you're talking with some dude in a bar, and all you keep wondering is where in the world is this guy from? What is this strange dialect with words like pitz and henna?

You suspect they may be Hazletonians, but you're not certain. "How can I tell if this person is truly from Hazleton?", you ask yourself.

The answer, my friend, is right here. You can tell a person is from Hazleton, if...

  1. They know what "henna" means.
  2. They consider dining at a fancy place the Knotty Pines.
  3. They spent summer swimming at Angela Park.
  4. They know what Skate Odyssey was.
  5. They used to get Ice Cream from Scoopers when it used to be Farmer's Dairy.
  6. They had a birthday party at Aladdin's Castle or the Magic Touch.
  7. They used to shop at Discountland.
  8. Their favorite drink is a Farmer's Iced Tea.
  9. They ever hung out at "the lot".
  10. They ever cruised Broad Street.
  11. They've seen the fireworks display at Harmon Geist.
  12. They ever went to a dance at the YMCA.
  13. They hung out at Burger King on 15th St. after Hazleton vs. West Hazleton football games.
  14. They ever shopped at Deisroth's.
  15. They ever went to the Rat Trap.
  16. They remember when Ollies was K-Mart and K-Mart was Zayres and when Zayres was Ames.
  17. They remember Gee Bees. Screw Gee Bee's. Do they remember Gaylord's?
  18. They say 'youse guys' when speaking to more than one person.
  19. They ever ate at the Big Wrangler.
  20. They drive a pick up that is more than 6 feet off of the ground.
  21. They used to rent movies from Unlimited Video.
  22. They can remember when Dominos was Kentucky Fried chicken.
  23. They can remember when the Key theater was really the Majestic.
  24. They depend on Channel 13 for the news.
  25. They ever visited St Joseph's Hospital on a field trip.
  26. They were ever spun around on Dr. Childs' head.
  27. They think of a Gourmet Lunch as Jimmy Dogs
  28. They thought they were going to die on Angela Park's roller coaster.
  29. They showed up plastered at the Hafey Bazaar.
  30. They remember where the Hersker Theatre was.
  31. They ever drag raced cars on the "quarter" by Humbolt.
  32. Their car has more Bondo than metal.
  33. Their idea of celebrities include Bob Sacco and Sammy Lesante
  34. They've seen Jack Palance at the Mall
  35. They know the difference between Two Italian Guys and Two Guys from Italy
  36. They know what Scamutz is.
  37. They ever went swimmin' in the "strippins"
  38. They can pronounce things like Kryczanznak and Kryzwicki
  39. They work "down da Plant" and shop "up da mall".
  40. They remember the Warm-Up Lounge
  41. They learned to swim at Grapey, The Bluey, White Rock or Humboldt
  42. They like french fries with vinegar, not ketchup
  43. They remember the 5 cent Cherry Cokes at The Leader Store Luncheonette
  44. Their hung out in front of Vesuvios in a 5-degree wind chill after walking from St. Joe's gym following a basketball game.
  45. They spent more time swimming and drinking in posted areas than in swimming pools or bars.
  46. They can't understand why Pizza Hut, Dominos and Little Caeser's don't offer pizza with scamutz.
  47. They can't figure out why "playing fingers" isn't an Olympic sport.
  48. Their diet growing up consisted mainly of "a slice and a tea."
  49. When they watch a baseball game, their mouth waters when they hear the words "Third Base."
  50. They know all the names of the original members of "Stryder," "Rogue," and "Richie Molinaro and Silk."
  51. Click-Click took their prom photos.
  52. They remember when Kings on West Broad was Top Spot, and hamburgers were only 29 cents.
  53. They pronounce the word "tiger," as "tagger" (e.g. "that Tagger Woods is a great golfer.")
  54. They still call Murph's Newsstand "Jim Perry's"
  55. They remember when Vesuvio's was Pietro's and Pietro's was Villa Maria
  56. They think the owner/operators of Vesuvio's are Mr. and Mrs. Vesuvio
  57. They get spring water amid the old tires, paint cans and trash at Stockton
  58. They get a chill up their spine as the Silver Beavers pass in the parade
  59. They know the Grebey Greasers.
  60. They remember open lunches at Harman Jr. High
  61. They can remember When K.F.C was Arthur Treachers!
  62. They're convinced that Jan Lewan is famous.

Unfortunately, I can't because I don't know his/her name and their email is not working. Anyway, I think it's a gas and my original intent was to link that page into this frame, however, I'm not into banner ads.
